Aubernee Kennels has been owned and operated by Bruce and Faye Anderson since 1986
BRUCE ANDERSON - Owner
All his life Bruce has been involved with dogs. As a child his family owned Labradors and he obtained his first Irish Setter in 1974 and started out first in obedience and then into conformation showing in 1976. The Aubernee breeding prefix was started in 1980, first with the Irish Setters and then in 1990 with the German Shepherd Dogs.

His interest in dogs then extended into conformation judging in 1984 and in 2015 he gained his All Breeds License enabling him to judge all Groups and Best in Show at Championship Show level worldwide, as well as being a qualified German Shepherd Dog Breed Surveyor and German Shepherd Dog Specialist judge both here and in Australia. Bruce passed his German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia Specialist Judges' Extension Course on 1st October 2011.
As a natural progression, after hurting his back in a work accident, Bruce started Aubernee Boarding Kennels in 1986. Originally a builder, Bruce takes care of all the maintenance and repair jobs at Aubernee Kennels.
Having served on numerous Dog Club Committees over these years, holding positions of President, Vice-President, Breed Surveyor Co-Ordinator plus many more, he is currently Patron of the East Coast Ladies Kennel Association and Vice-President of The German Shepherd Dog Association of Hawkes Bay.

FAYE ANDERSON - Owner

Faye, on the other hand, has only had dogs since 1975, firstly German Shepherd Dogs and then included Irish Setters from 1986.
​
Faye has been part of the team at Aubernee Kennels since 1994. Being from a professional background, Faye deals with all the administration procedures at Aubernee Kennels.
​
She has also served on various Dog Club Committees and her interests extend to conformation and specialist dog show handling, obedience and agility training, and breeding German Shepherd Dogs. Currently Faye is Patron of the East Coast Ladies Kennel Association Dog Club.
​
Many of our dogs have attained the title of Champion, with two gaining the pretigious Grand Champion title and we have had Best in Show winners as well as many in show class winners at All Breeds Championship Shows and German Shepherd Specialist Shows. In the German Shephed specialist ring we have owned/bred many multi-Gold medalists as well as multi-Excellent rated stock and Breed Surveyed animals.
